- February 24 - Michael and Nancy Kerson's daughter, Saanen,
is born
Tammy and many of the other residents loved helping care for Saanen. Barbara
the draft horse liked her, too.
- March - Vine Village Guild founded

1974 Trip to Disneyland and ARC Convention
- Spring: Cheyenne the Quarterhorse donated by the Dr. Morris
Mink family

- May 19 - VV starts 4-H program for residents: goat, horse,
& gardening projects

- September - all-ranch trip to Shasta Dam & Cheyne potato
ranch in McDoel, CA

- October 27 - Art Van Damme Concert & Winetasting at Robert
Mondavi Winery
- First chardonnay vineyard planted, under direction of
Abbott Williams
Community Projects donates $900 for woodshop tools:14,700 wooden grape stakes
made & sold to Geyser Peak Winery

- Bay City Lodge IOOF donates 12-passenger van
- Kaiser Steel donates 100 feet of 1/4 inch steel pipe for
dam spillway
- 8500 gallon water tank built for Vine Village Water System

Many groups visit: Rainbow Girls, Wintun School, Vallejo Special Ed, Caymus
School, Sonoma State Hospital, etc.

Neighborhood Resistance winds down...
|
- Tucker Crosby, who was working at Sonoma State Hospital
at the time, offered to volunteer his time as a teacher. After a couple of
classes, we recognized a good thing and hired him! He's been with Vine
Village ever since.

- May 8 - "Silver" 1/2 Belgian, 1/2 Quarterhorse, born to
Dorothy the Belgian

- July 16 -use permit renewed & capacity increased to 12
- August 31 - Art Van Damme Quintet concert & picnic at
VV
- Greenhouse is developed from old horse barn
- Bay City Lodge IOOF donates $5000 to remodel Women’s
House
- (Patsy Kalfain Sorority) donates $1000 to remodel goat
dairy barn
- Ed Young Memorial contributions begin remodel of
Vinegar Barn
- Residents & staff take trip to Tahoe for snow sports
